Our Services
The six point program
The National Association of University Women (NAUW) is a public service organization committed to addressing the challenges facing communities across America. Over the years, NAUW has developed impactful programs focused on education, health, international development, and the empowerment of African American families. Today, these initiatives remain at the core of our mission. Through our newly launched Six-Point Program, we aim to enhance lives with innovative, high-impact strategies. Each branch is encouraged to implement these programs creatively and effectively to meet the unique needs of their local communities.
As part of the National Association of University Women's Six-Point Program, the Southwest Inland Empire Branch has made significant strides in advancing the Education pillar within our local community. Through our partnership with the Children’s Fund, we provided essential school supplies and backpacks to high school students in foster care, helping to remove barriers to academic success.
Additionally, we organized a toy drive to support youth from low-income families and foster homes, creating moments of joy and encouragement during the holiday season. Our support extended to Honey Hollow Elementary, where we supplied backpacks and school supplies to young students, ensuring they began the school year with the tools they need to thrive.
These initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to empowering students and families across the Inland Empire through education-focused service.
In alignment with the Health and Wellness pillar of the National Association of University Women’s Six-Point Program, the Southwest Inland Empire Branch has supported the Foothill Family Shelter in its mission to serve families facing food insecurity and homelessness. By providing food donations, we have helped ensure that families in crisis have access to nutritious meals.
Additionally, our monetary contributions have assisted in combating homelessness, offering critical resources to those in transition.
These efforts demonstrate our branch’s ongoing commitment to promoting health, stability, and well-being within the Inland Empire community.

As part of our commitment to Political Awareness and Civic Engagement, the Southwest Inland Empire Branch proudly supported Wilmer Amina Carter High School in promoting voter education among youth. By assisting students and faculty with on-campus voter registration drives, we empowered the next generation to understand the importance of civic responsibility and active participation in the democratic process.
These efforts reflect our dedication to fostering informed, engaged citizens within the Inland Empire and encouraging lifelong habits of civic involvement.
In support of the Literacy pillar of the National Association of University Women’s Six-Point Program, the Southwest Inland Empire Branch organized a community book drive to promote a love for reading and lifelong learning. Through this initiative, we collected and distributed books to children and families in need, helping to expand access to literacy resources across the Inland Empire. By encouraging reading at all ages, our branch remains committed to nurturing imagination, comprehension, and educational growth within our community.

Literacy
As part of our dedication to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the Southwest Inland Empire Branch proudly awards annual scholarships to deserving high school seniors who are enrolling in four-year colleges or universities. Through this initiative, we aim to ease the financial burden of higher education while encouraging academic excellence and supporting the legacy of Black excellence in higher learning. Our continued investment in students reflects our commitment to education, equity, and the advancement of future leaders.
The Sisters Connect initiative of the Southwest Inland Empire Branch is a monthly gathering designed to strengthen sisterhood through meaningful dialogue and shared learning. Each month, members come together to engage with a selected book, film, or personal presentation, creating a space for intellectual growth, cultural exploration, and deeper connection. This program fosters a supportive environment where members can reflect, learn, and uplift one another while embracing the core values of unity, empowerment, and continuous learning.
